As in many areas across the UK, South Asians in this region are at a significantly higher risk of cardiovascular diseases

(CVD), including coronary heart disease (CHD). Research shows that South Asians are nearly twice as likely to develop CHD compared to White Europeans, due in part to factors like a higher prevalence of type 2 diabetes, elevated cholesterol, and lower physical activity levels.

This event will offer cardiovascular education and point-of-care lipid testing.
